Mosul, la segunda ciudad más poblada de Irak, cayó en manos de ISIS en Junio de 2014. Fue precisamente en la Gran Mezquita de Mosul donde Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi proclamó “El Califato de Siria e Irak”.

Desde Octubre de 2016, una colación formada por el ejército del gobierno iraquí, fuerzas kurdas, milicias chiíes y varios actores internacionales, han lanzado una ofensiva para recuperar la ciudad.

El legendario fotógrafo serbio Goran Tomasevic ha tomado esta serie de escalofriantes fotos desde la primera línea de batalla.

  1. Como dice Jorge Toledo la gente hace de todo por llamar la atención, carreras con su hijo a cuesta, exibicionismo, tirarse al mar. En fin que hace de todo para venir a esta Europa de los contratos basura, de los cortes de luz, de robos, de injusticia.
